About Us
Scuffy Dogs are a punk band from Nova Gorica, Slovenia, active from 1994. Known for their energetic shows and distinctive punk sound, they played across Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Germany, and beyond. The band released several records and compilations, shared stages with major punk acts, and became an important part of the Slovenian punk scene.
Tomo Kutin
Tomo Kutin was one of the founding members of Scuffy Dogs and the band’s singer and guitarist from the beginning until his death in 2014. He had already been part of the earlier project DNMZ before Scuffy Dogs were officially formed in 1994. Remembered as a respected, big-hearted person, Tomo left behind many songs, memories, and friends across Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy.
Andraž “Lasulja”
Andraž “Lasulja” was a founding member of Scuffy Dogs and played guitar and sang backing vocals throughout the band’s entire history. Before Scuffy Dogs, he was also involved in the earlier project DNMZ and later had another band project called Pizda Materna. Together with Tomo, he remained one of the two original members involved in the band’s later comeback.
Matjaž “Cejko”
Matjaž “Cejko” was the original bassist of Scuffy Dogs and helped form the band in 1994. He played on the early recordings, including the songs used for the split LP with Wasserdicht. In 1995, he left the band to focus on his family and work, but not before teaching his bass parts to his replacement, Oliver “Olio.”

Saša “Kotnik”
Saša “Kotnik” joined Scuffy Dogs as drummer when the band was formed on November 1, 1994. He played during the band’s early and most active years, including the first shows, recordings, tours, and releases. In 1998, he was replaced by Neno and later became drummer for Elvis Jackson.
Boštjan “Pandula”
Boštjan “Pandula” joined Scuffy Dogs in 1995 as saxophone player, helping the band create a unique punk sound that was unusual in Slovenia at the time. He played during the band’s early period and was part of the lineup that recorded and toured in 1995 and 1996. After the German tour in 1996, he left the band, ending the band’s “sax era.”

Oliver “Olio”
Oliver “Olio” became the bassist after Matjaž left the band. He joined as a very young musician and even skipped high school to go on the German “Slovenian beer & noise bastards” tour in 1996. Olio played during an important period when Scuffy Dogs released music internationally and toured widely.
Nenad “Neno”
Nenad “Neno” joined Scuffy Dogs in 1998 after Saša Kotnik was unavailable for shows. He had to learn the songs quickly while traveling to a show in Italy, but soon became a member of both Scuffy Dogs and Pizda Materna. After leaving the band in 1999, he moved to London, studied drumming, and later played in several indie bands.

He played on the 2001 self-titled album released by Front Rock and was part of the band during the period when the video for “Vesolj-Ska” appeared on Slovenian music charts. Sirk sadly died in 2009 from a heart attack while swimming, just before the band was considering a comeback.
Primož “Petko”
Primož “Petko” Petkovšek joined Scuffy Dogs as bassist when the band reformed around 2009. He was described as Tomo’s close friend from Ljubljana and also as a well-known movie actor. Because of his busy acting schedule, he left the band in 2010 and was replaced by Sasha “American Bastard.”
Sasha “American Bastard”
Sasha “American Bastard” joined Scuffy Dogs in December 2010 as bassist, replacing Primož “Petko” Petkovšek. He became part of the final lineup of the band during their last years of shows in Slovenia and Croatia. He remained with Scuffy Dogs until the band ended after Tomo’s death in 2014.
